Entry from: Paris, France Entry Title: "10 things I learned at the Louvre" Entry: "[J] We hit the Louvre today and I learned a few things: 1. It's not pronounced "loove" (like I've always said it). It's pronounced more like "loov-rah" with the "rah" part being almost an afterthought. Next thing you know someone's going to tell me I'm mispronouncing Brett Favre. 2. There's a much shorter line to buy tickets. As long as you pay by credit card (which is what I wanted to do), you can use one of the automated machines to get your tickets. This might have been useful to know before standing in the regular line for 25 minutes. 3. The inverted underground pyramid is not actually inside the admission-paid area of the Louvre. The thing is actually in the mall-like area you walk through from the Metro before you get to the ticket purchasing lines. You'd think that they would want to be a little more protective of the final resting place of Mary Magdalene. (Little "Da Vinci Code" reference there for you. No, I don't agree with the concept of the book or movie, and no, I don't believe Mary Magdalene is buried at the Louvre. Well, she wasn't listed in the audio guide anyway). *** Jason's Louvre Tip #374: Go on a Wednesday or Friday to take advantage of the later opening hours. It stays open until 9:45 pm ...
