Balades à Paris autour de l'hôtel Gavarni: Vélib ', Trocadéro, Tour Eiffel et breakdance!

Balades à Paris autour de l'hôtel Gavarni: Vélib ', Trocadéro, Tour Eiffel et breakdance! Video Clips. Duration : 4.00 Mins.

Walk in Paris around the Hotel Gavarni and the Trocadéro : Vélib', Eiffel Tower and breakdance ! According to Xavier Moraga, the manager of the green hotels Gavarni and Eiffel Trocadéro, the best way to discover Paris is the Vélib'! You just have to subscribe at a Vélib' stand with your credit card, or go to a reception situated in the great metro stations. He explains to his friend from LA, Paige Donner, the creator of the website Greening Hollywood, how to best use the Parisian ...

Entry from: Paris, France Entry Title: "Paris" Entry: "Europe is a very long way from Brisbane - we thought the flight would never end. When it did we were pushed out of the airport in the cold dark and drizzly morning (6am) to find our hotel. They took pity on us and let us check in to shower and change. But then it was out walking - for the next five days. As our accommodation was in the historic centre of Paris we could walk to all the major landmarks. On the first day we walked to the Arc de Triomphe along the Champs Elysee to ward off jet lag and to get our bearings. Also on this day we discovered one thing we were warned about and found everywhere - beggars and hawkers. Beggars are mostly of the "Bosnian refugee" variety that ask you if you speak English (ie are you a dumb tourist?) and thrust a card at you explaining their plight. After the first time you learn to firmly say "non" in your best French accent. In case you think this is harsh and perhaps they are genuine refugees we actually saw proof that they are organised by someone. On our way to Rue Clare we passed a Bosnian lady bent over double begging. After walking briskly for 2 kilometres she appeared ahead of us - clearly being moved around by her handler. Hawkers are of the string selling, flower "giving", polaroid photo taking and, most ...

The Moonstone of The Netherlands - Part 1

The Moonstone of The Netherlands - Part 1 Tube. Duration : 10.78 Mins.

According to the "Brisbane Times," on August 26, 2009, the Rijksmuseum announced "that one of its prized possessions, a rock supposedly brought back from the moon by US astronauts, is just a piece of petrified wood..." The headline to the "Telegraph" article implicates the Apollo 11 astronauts even more harshly. "'Moon rock' given to Holland by Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin is fake." Can this be true? Did the crew of Apollo 11 actually give a fake moon rock to then-retired Prime Minister, Willem Drees, during their visit to The Netherlands on October 9, 1969? Well, if we take a look at the historic record -- what actually happened that day -- and compare it these recent "news" stories, we find a number of discrepancies. Ryanair , The Low Fares Airline

Ryanair , The Low Fares Airline Tube. Duration : 3.53 Mins.

Ryanair (ISEQ: RYA, LSE: RYA, NASDAQ: RYAAY) is an Irish low cost airline with its head office at Dublin Airport, Ireland, and with primary operational bases at Dublin Airport and London Stansted Airport. Ryanair operates almost 250 Boeing 737-800 aircraft on over 1100 routes across Europe and Morocco from over 43 bases. The airline has been characterised by rapid expansion, a result of the deregulation of the air industry in Europe in 1997 and the success of its low cost business model. Ryanair is Europe's largest low-cost carrier, the 3rd largest airline in Europe in terms of passenger numbers and the largest in the world in terms of international passenger numbers. Ryanair now has a number of low-cost competitors. In 2004, approximately 60 new low-cost airlines were formed. Although traditionally a full-service airline, Aer Lingus moved to a low-fares strategy from 2002, leading to a much more intense competition with Ryanair on Irish routes.[citation needed] Airlines which attempt to compete directly with Ryanair are treated competitively, with Ryanair being accused by some of reducing fares to significantly undercut their competitors. In response to MyTravelLite, who started to compete with Ryanair on the Birmingham to Dublin route in 2003, Ryanair set up competing flights on some of MyTravelLite's routes until they pulled out. Go was another airline which attempted to offer services from Ryanair's hub at Dublin to Glasgow and Edinburgh in Scotland. A fierce battle ...

Picture it: Paris, 2001. I had just gotten off an overnight train from Madrid to Paris and...well...I assuredly had to use the restroom! I ran over to the toilette, only to be stopped by a surly french woman telling me that I had to fork over some money to use the facilities. Furiously searching through my purse, I kept pulling out random coins while the woman shook her head. I had no idea which of these foreign coins would consist of the cost of using the bathroom. Although life is a diminutive easier now that many European countries use the same currency, it is still worth taking a few minutes to communicate the coins and bills ahead of time

Alert your financial institutions

The last thing you want to deal with on your trip is a declined prestige card. Make sure to call your bank and prestige cards ahead of time to give them a list of countries where you will be traveling. That way, if the firm starts looking many large transactions in a foreign country, they won't be tempted to deactivate your card for safety purposes.

Know the conversion rates

While you're on your trip to Europe, you'll want to have a good idea of how much you're assuredly spending. This is hard to do if you don't understand the currency conversion between Euros (or whatever currency is used in the countries you are visiting) and your own country's currency. A good plan is to communicate the basics before you leave.  Let's assume that you are from the U.S. And you will be using the Euro on your trip. First, visit a currency conversion site, such as  http://finance.yahoo.com/currency, and resolve what one Euro is worth in dollars. Then get a few more Euro denominations, such as 10, 20, 50 and 100, and note their dollar equivalents. Write them on a small piece of paper and carry it your wallet. That way, when you're mental about buying the Italian leather shoes that cost 100 Euro, you can swiftly check and remind yourself that you're assuredly spending 4.

Disneyland Paris Trip - Train voyage to and From Paris

Disneyland Paris is, for many, a dream destination especially if you have a young family. Train travel is one of the easiest ways to get to the park and the French have made it easy to travel to and from Paris by train with trains running approx every 15 mins.

The center for Euro Disney is positioned just outside the main entrances to the parks so once you get off your train it is a stones throw from the magic of the parks and you are already slap bang in the climate of Disney. The train center is also next to the bus center so it is easy to transfer to a shuttle if you are staying on site or get a local bus to the area in which you are staying. I understand there is also a aid where if you are staying in a Disney Hotel your luggage can be taken to your hotel for you meaning you are able to enjoy the parks right away!

Paris Travel Card

City trains travel to and from central Paris to Euro Disneyland throughout the day at practically 15 little intervals from the following five large central Paris Rer A Stations: Charles de Gaulle Etoile (at Arc de Triomphe), Auber (at Galeries Lafayette shopping center), Chatelet Les Halles (massive incommunicable shopping centre and largest underground/subway center in the world), Gare de Lyon and Nation station. The center at Euro Disney is called Marne La Vallee / Disney

You will need to buy Zone 1 -Zone 5 label which will cover both the incommunicable and over ground parts of your journey. A one way label costs approx Eur6.45 and can be purchased by automatic machine (different languages can be chosen) and can be paid for by coins or a chip and pin card. If there are several of you travelling or you intend to make multiple journeys they you would be advised to but a book of ten tickets as this will give you two free tickets. On our case there was a party of 5 adults on a day trip to Paris so we purchased a book of ten tickets which made the total cost of the journey Eur51.60 rather than Eur64.50. Eur10.32 per someone rather than Eur12.90 a good saving.

French trains are very dependable and the trip from Disneyland Paris to the centre of Paris only took 40 mins each way with the trains running on time. This was much easier than trying to drive into the capital.

Glacial Melting - Original Music - Musical #16

Glacial Melting - Original Music - Musical #16 Video Clips. Duration : 4.10 Mins.

This is an improvisation I recorded over the weekend (2009-10-18). I hope you enjoy - it's potential music for a new musical I'm writing. This piece describes for me the sound of glaciers melting into rivers that shred Greenland ice. The photos are very special to me - I highly recommend looking at all of them. They are from my favorite museum in my year in Paris, le Musée Rodin, which has Auguste Rodin's artwork and the house he lived in near les Invalides. This was a very special place for me. I could get in for free with my Arts student card, and would often sit in the garden and read, tourist-watch, or consider my quarter-life crisis. I felt lonely then and these moments were very happy. As I recall, I thought I had been stood up by a "date" as I was taking these pictures. Unbeknowst to me, the girl was sitting in one of the benches in the garden.

Chemtrails: What in the World Are They Spraying? (Full Length HD)

Chemtrails: What in the World Are They Spraying? (Full Length HD) Video Clips. Duration : 97.55 Mins.

The Chemtrail/Geo-Engineering Coverup. (Documentary) By now everyone has seen crisscrossing streaks of white clouds trailing behind jet aircraft, stretching from horizon to horizon, eventually turning the sky into a murky haze. Our innate intelligence tells us these are not mere vapor trails from jet engines, but no one yet has probed the questions: WHO is doing this and WHY. With the release of this video, all of that has changed. Here is the story of a rapidly developing industry called Geo-engineering, driven by scientists, corporations, and governments intent on changing global climate, controlling the weather, and altering the chemical composition of soil and water -- all supposedly for the betterment of mankind. Although officials insist that these programs are only in the discussion phase, evidence is abundant that they have been underway since about 1990 -- and the effect has been devastating to crops, wildlife, and human health. We are being sprayed with toxic substances without our consent and, to add insult to injury, they are lying to us about it. Produced by G. Edward Griffin, Michael Murphy, and Paul Wittenberger

17 Tips on Driving in France

First rule for you to remember (should you come from the Uk) when planning to drive in France for a carp fishing holiday is: drive on the right side of the road! Be especially careful when setting off from aid stations or restaurants on the left side of the road.

Also, bear in mind that you may have to give priority to traffic coming from the right (priorité à droite), especially in built up areas or when on small roads. Regularly on large roads you do not give priority to the right, except on the peripherique, the ring road around Paris.

Paris Travel Card

Many anglers I meet have not driven abroad before and apprehend the experience with some dread. In normal it is not as a matter of fact that difficult, you just have to stay focused and make sure you combine and look more determined before maneuvering than you would at home. My Tomtom all the time reminds me when I drive on the left in the Uk, so it is a nice touch to have this reminder when in France. As I said the most vital time is when you start off after a break. I've heard of a whole of accidents caused by this lapse of concentration, especially on quiet country roads. Perhaps you could tape a reminder to the steering wheel... 'Drive on the Right!'

Before leaving the Uk I'd recommend a acceptable aid of your car to make sure it is in tip top health before you set off.

There are a whole of things you need to bring with you when you speculation onto the continent.

5 Things you must bring with you.

Log book: Most European countries need you to carry your V5C car registration document. You will be requested to produce it by the Gendarme should you get pulled over. Also in the case of an crisis the information pertaining to your car will be needed for the article and requested by the police. You are required by law in France to have this document with you when you drive at all times. Driving licence: You need to have a full drivers licence, a provisional is not adequate to drive abroad. Again it will be requested by police if you get stopped, and will be needed for an crisis report. This is an additional one document that you are required to carry when driving in France. Insurance Green card: It is foremost that you carry your assurance with you at all times too, as this is the third document you are required to produce in case of an accident. The Green card is no longer obligatory but a good idea nonetheless. Gb Sticker: You are required to have one of these, but most whole plates have a wee Gb on them now, which is acceptable anywhere in the Eu instead of a cut off sticker. Headlight deflectors: These are foremost on right hand drive cars to avoid dazzling on coming traffic.
5 Things you need to bring with you.

Spare bulbs: Not a legal requirement, but if you get stopped for a blown bulb and can't turn it you'll probably get a spot fine. So for the price of a set of spares it's as a matter of fact worth having them in your glove box. Warning triangle: You'll need to use either a warning triangle or hazard warning lights in case of an accident. Or both if you have them. The triangle is only mandatory for vehicles over 3.5 tonnes. Fluoro vest: Not a legal requirement but a sensible item to carry. If you break down on a busy road or motorway it could as a matter of fact help with your personal safety. Good map of France: I'd recommend a Michelin Atlas. Exquisite information and has most of the minor roads too. Get a up-to-date edition as there have been a whole of modifications to the road network over the last few years along with some new motorways. Spare Fuses: Again a sensible thing to carry is a set of fuses. A blown fuse can have varying consequences on your car from very wee to total immobility. So for a few pence it's a must to have in your glove box.
7 Things that are a good idea to bring with you

Breakdown recovery insurance: I've seen it a whole of times where anglers break down and are stranded and facing a huge bill to get towed and repatriated. You can't just rely on 'It won't happen to me'. Even a minor bump can see you car immobilised and with all you gear it can turn a trip into a nightmare. So get yourself Aa, Rac, or Green Flag assurance and you'll have far less to worry about. For the few quid it costs it's false economy to skimp on this. Jumpstart cables : I guess we've all flattened our battery at some point, leaving lights on etc. A set of jump cables is a must as far as I'm concerned and I all the time have them in my van. Booster pack: Can replace the above, as long as you keep it fully charged. A useful piece of kit to have with you. Can also be used to payment up your phones etc on the bank. Tow rope: Getting stuck around lakes is a risk we all take. I no longer drive a 4×4 which saved me and others on a whole of instances. Vans and light cars especially rear wheel drives are hopeless on greasy or wet grass or mud. If you have a good rope at least you can try to get aid to pull you out. Gps: I wouldn't be without my Tomtom Sat Nav now. I find it as a matter of fact brilliant for navigating my way round France. I use it in conjunction with Google Earth to plan my route, entering the longitude/latitude coordinates of each stop. brilliant invention..highly recommended. Mobile phone -Europe roaming: useful if you want to ring home... I got caught out once in the Uk when I changed phones and forgot to stipulate I wanted Europe roaming. European crisis assurance Form: Helpful to make sure you derive and give all the vital details for an assurance claim in case of an accident.
General Driving Info

Speed limits :

The speed limits in France are somewhat similar to speed limits in other European countries. They are indicated in kilometres per hour.

Highway : 130 km/h, if raining 110 km/h (80 mph, 70 mph)

Dual carriageway : 110 km/h, if raining 100 km/h (70 mph, 60 mph)

Open road : 90 km/h, if raining 80 km/h (55 mph, 50 mph)

Town : 50 km/h (30 mph)

Speed cameras: Most foreign drivers are, for the time being, not targeted by the vast network of self-operating speed cameras across France. As of now, only one country (Luxembourg) has agreed to share its car registration database with France. But as European police forces cooperate more and more, new countries are likely to join forces in that field. Besides, if arrested for disposition checks by the police or gendarmerie, previous recorded infractions might turn up on the officers' computer. What's more, over speeding by more than 50km/h is determined a criminal offense, and will bring you vital trouble if caught.

Radar and Laser detectors are not allowed in France. Getting caught having such a gismo in your car means a 1500 euros fine, gismo impounded (with the car if fixed to it).

Bon Voyage
