It's pronounced more like "loov-rah" with the "rah" part being almost an afterthought. Next thing you know someone's going to tell me I'm mispronouncing Brett Favre. 2. There's a much shorter line to buy tickets. As long as you pay by credit card (which is what I wanted to do), you can use one of the automated machines to get your tickets. This might have been useful to know before standing in the regular line for 25 minutes. 3. The inverted underground pyramid is not actually inside the admission-paid area of the Louvre. The thing is actually in the mall-like area you walk through from the Metro before you get to the ticket purchasing lines. You'd think that they would want to be a little more protective of the final resting place of Mary Magdalene. (Little "Da Vinci Code" reference there for you. No, I don't agree with the concept of the book or movie, and no, I don't believe Mary Magdalene is buried at the Louvre. Well, she wasn't listed in the audio guide anyway). *** Jason's Louvre Tip #374: Go on a Wednesday or Friday to take advantage of the later opening hours. It stays open until 9:45 pm ...

What Do Passports Cost And How Do I Get One?

Are you inspecting going on a house vacation overseas, but are unsure of what passports cost, or even what the policy of getting one involves? While there are still some countries that do not need you to have a passport in order to enter, most will all request one for entry. Mexico and Canada are two that don't need a passport and will allow you to enter with a birth certificate, but having a passport will right on make things much easier. All in all, a passports cost is worth your peace of mind alone. If you've ever had the misfortune of being held up do to legal identification papers, you know what I mean.

Ok, so what are we seeing at for costs here? A passport will literally have two separate fees associated with it. The first fee is the passport processing fee that the U.S. State group charges. Currently, passports cost .00 for adults, and .00 for any child under 16 years old. They have recently went up due to adding a protection surcharge.

Paris Travel Card

The second fee is called the performance fee and it covers the cost of manufacture the passport. The processing fee and the protection surcharge are paid to the U.S. State Department. The performance fee is paid to the factory you are purchasing your passport from. You can pay with cash, checks, money orders, or credit cards.

It's easy to apply for a passport. You can download the required forms from the official State group website. Fill them out, and then go have 2 photo id pictures taken at any authorized merchant. Walgreens, or Eckerd Drugs are just two places that come to mind immediately. The cost will ordinarily be less than . Once you have your pictures, forms, and payment funds, you can go to any passport payment processor and get all completed. In fact, you can go to your local post office and make the payment to them and then mail all off. Don't forget to bring your birth certificate to show proof of citizenship.

Once you have submitted all to the State group it will commonly take from 4-6 weeks to get your passport sent to you. More or less time depending on the time of the year. If you are in need of getting your passport quicker than that, there are services ready that will expedite the process for a fee. Many times you can get your passport within a week for a fee of in the middle of -0. This fee is added to your passports cost.

Once you get a passport, it's good for 10 years. As you can see, getting a passport is not that difficult and a passports cost is literally not prohibitive.

I heard from a YTer recently whose son was here in France, and some of his gadgets were stolen from his hotel room. Hotels will not be responsible for your valuables. The son was probably too confused to know how to go to the police and file a report. You must speak and understand fluent French in order to do this, true. And show your valid ID (passport, stamped and dated upon your arrival) -- you must carry it on you at all times here. Always leave a photocopy of all the pertinent pages with someone you trust who could fax it to the Consulate. If you pay in your local currency and have a photocopy, for American passports, the replacement fee is less and it only takes a few hours. You will have to go out and buy biometric ID photos, and you cannot smile, and your ears must show. No glasses allowed. At the US Consulate in Paris, which is quite a zoo these days and you cannot carry in food nor water and there are no restroom facilities anymore, I've met quite a few people who'd had everything stolen and getting a new passport was costly, took days, and they missed their return flights. The Meaning of reputation Card Numbers

If you take a close look at your credit cards, you'll probably wonder what all those numbers stand for. Every digit genuinely stands for something specific. Let's have a look at each of those numbers in sequence.

The First Digit

Paris Travel Card

Gasoline cards, agency store cards and phone cards have their own programs.

The major credit card companies control on a standardized theory for assigning credit card numbers. The first digit in the series will always be a 3, 4, 5 or 6. This number designates the type of card you have. For instance, a 3 means it's a voyage and entertainment card, such as American Express or Diners Club. A 4 is Visa and Visa-branded debit cards, cash cards; a 5 is MasterCard and MasterCard-branded debit cards, cash cards; and 6 is Discover.

The Other Numbers

American Express and Diners Club use the second digit to identify the company. That means that Diners Club cards will start with either 36 or 38, and American Express cards will lead off with 34 or 37.

The remaining numbers in the series are used for other purposes, depending upon the card type and issuer. Generally, the numbers grouped after the occasion series is the routing number of the bank and the next group is the user's account number. The final digit is special -- a check digit. This is a number calculated by applying a exact formula, and it is used as a fraud check.

Look At Your Card

American Express uses digits 3 and 4 for firm or personal card type and the currency of the cardholder's country of origin. Digits 5 through 11 are the account number. Digits 12 through 14 show the card number attached to that account. The last digit is, of course, the check digit.

Visa uses digits 2 through 6 for the bank number. Beginning with digit 7 and running through 12 or 15, they're the account number, and the last number is the check digit. The number of digits in a group may vary because Visa cards don't all have the same number of digits.

With MasterCard, the second digit through digit 3 (to as high as 6) is the bank number. All remaining digits, except the end check digit, identifies the cardholder's account.

And that's it. A slightly complicated theory essential to track billions of credit cards across the globe.

List of Praise and Worship Songs

Hillsongs is one of the most popular Christian music groups that have tour all over the world to share their music. The group has released some albums and these are being sold in music market in various countries. They have also done concerts that feature their praise and worship music and have toured some continents.

Hillsongs United has a compound of slow and fast-beat tracks that they have captured the hearts of Christians of all ages and of dissimilar denominations. Here are some of the most familiar songs that the group has sung.

Here I Am To Worship

Featuring the lyrics "Here I am to worship, Here I am to bow down,Here I am to say that You're my God" this song acknowledges God's power over everyone. This slow praise song can make a man hum as he or she listens to the song. The coda measure also has a very deep message especially for people who are asking for forgiveness and conversion. It says "I never know how much it cost to see my sin upon that cross... Call upon the name of the Lord and be saved," repeatedly until the song ends.

King of Majesty

The song begins with the lines, "You know that I love You, You know that I want You." The refrain plays, "King of majesty, I have one desire, is to be with You, my Lord," and "Jesus, You are the Savior of my soul, and forever I give my praises to You." Those who would like to praise God through hip tunes are beyond doubt taken by the great lyrics and arrangement of this song.

Now That You're Near

This song has some arrangements, with the rock versions being one of the most popular. "Hold me in Your arms, never let me go, I wanna spend my eternity with You," says the refrain.

One Way

The chorus of this song has the lyrics, "One way, Jesus, You're the only One that I could live for." This is, perhaps one of the most popular songs of the group. This has sent a huge number of Christians all over the world jumping and dancing as they sing along with the song.

Because Hillsongs was able to integrate the praise and worship with some of the elements of popular music, their songs continue to spread to more and more Christians. In the end, it is not about the singer, the composer and the song. It is about lifting the hearts of more and more people to God.

Paris on a funds - Paris tour Guide

Although ordinarily related with visions of grandeur and high society, at times of tightly stretched credit cards a trip to Paris doesn't have to cost the earth. Room Paris is often the biggest stumbling block and selecting an thrifty yet comfortable option can be no ifs ands or buts tricky. Paris apartments not only give you the occasion to 'live like a Parisian' but also often work out much more economically than a hotel or guest house.

Sights and attractions on a shoestring: For a spectacular view of the city climb up the stairs of the northern tower of Notre Dame cathedral, ogle at the lurid yet strangely captivating gargoyles then take in the spectacular Parisian vista from above. What's more the cathedral is one of the few major attractions of the city which is free to enter. Les Tuileries is Catherine de Medici's magnificent park and most centrally settled green space in Paris. This expansive range of formal gardens, sweeping paths and even one or two galleries connects the Louvre with Place de la Concorde, bordering the Seine. There are assorted sculptures settled sporadically around the gardens and L'Orangerie museum, housing works by Cézanne, Matisse, Renoir, is well worth a visit especially if you are fortunate adequate to time your visit with the first Sunday of the month when entry is free.

Paris Travel Card

Eating out every day in Paris can be an high-priced affair but a baguette in the park can be equally enjoyable on a fine sunny day. Why not pick up a noted poulet baguette from the Brioche Dorée boulangerie chain, found all over the city, and take it to the Jardin du Luxembourg (Le Luco). This "people's park" is frequented by great numbers of students, families and boules-playing retired locals alike, and provides a delightful lunchtime spectacle. Paris' largest park is also the ideal place for children with an enclosed play area, marionette shows and other attractions to keep them out of trouble.

On a Sunday morning, there is no best pleasure than a stroll down the Rue du Mouffetard in the 5th arrondissement to the home of Paris' most noted pedestrianised street and street market. Indulge your senses in the divine flavours and appetizing of stall after stall of cheeses, meat and fresh fruit and vegetables. I challenge you to resist! Depending on the time of the day, this is a great district to treat yourself to a very reasonably priced brunch or lunch in a range of bistros and restaurants from all corners of the globe. Just take your pick!

To save on transport costs, if you are staying in Paris for a week or more it is worth investing in a Carte Orange, a photographic metro pass which allows you unlimited way to city transport for around 16 euros for zones one and two, depending on the location of your Paris apartments. Alternatively one day tickets work out economically if you intend to use the transport system frequently.

Car Rental in Europe - Things You Should Know

Renting a car in Europe can be a great way to see more and heighten your vacation. The goal should be to improve your list of destinations, not your costs. Avoid any unexpected charges by being a well informed consumer. Here are some factors you right on will want to think about if you plan on renting a car while on a European vacation.

"One-Way" Car Rentals

Paris Travel Card

Round trip airline tickets often are economy if you are willing to fly in and out of two different cities. Unfortunately for the traveler, car rental agencies generally do not work this way. Many agencies payment what are known as "one-way" fees for picking up in one location and dropping off in another. If you plan on picking up in one country and returning in another, there will always be a one-way fee. If the rental takes place within the same country, often times there is no one way fee, but it is always best to check with your victualer first. If you need to get to one country from another, you can sometimes pick up in a major city, return to a border town, cross the country border, and pick up another rental car and be on your way.

Example: flying into Paris, flying out of Zurich, two week rental. Pick up your car in Paris. After a week or so, return it to the Geneva Airport, French side. Walk to the Swiss side of the airport to pick up another car. Return that car to Zurich.

This may seem like a hassle, but you will save big in the long run.

Advise of trip Plans

Tell the rental agency in improve where you plan on taking the vehicle. There are often restrictions on trip into determined countries, and boarder guards have the right to deny you passage with out the proper paper work. Clearing this up in improve can save a possible vacation disaster.

Explore assurance Options

You generally have two options for assurance in Europe. The first option is to purchase it locally. If you do this, be aware of your deductible amounts. It is foremost to know exactly what you can be held financially responsible for in the event of damage or theft to your rental car. The second option is to find out if your reputation card has rental assurance on it. If it does, you can normally take advantage of this service. It's a great way to get something back from your reputation card company and will also save you money. Call your Gold or Platinum cards as you have the best opening of being covered by higher end cards. Be sure to mention all of the countries you plan on traveling to, or renting in.

Learn to Drive manual Transmission

Most habitancy book their vacations 3 months in advance, in some cases even more. Hardly anyone in Europe drives self-operating transmission as it considered a luxury. This is reflected in the cost of your rental car. You can admittedly find yourself paying 0 Usd more per week if you have to drive automatic. Take those three months to learn how drive manual transmission. Do keep in mind that if you burn out a clutch of a rental car, it's not going to be covered by insurance.

Local Fuel Policy

Many suppliers have started charging you for an entire tank of gas, and you are supposed to return the car as empty as possible. With today's gas prices, this could be a high-priced option. If you only need a car for a trip from the airport to your hotel and back, hire a personal replacement instead, most times the cost is about the same.

Know the Laws of the Land

There are no get out of jail free cards for tourists. Familiarize yourself with road signs, driving laws and speed limits before you get to Europe. If you are driving in the Uk or Ireland be prepared for left side drive. You also need to know your license restrictions. Don't get caught without proper documentation or you may be forced to pay an "on the spot" fine. An international driver's license is the best way to do this, and is an cheap speculation that will keep you on good terms with local law enforcement.

Request Your Extras

Most all things you could think of will need to be requested. Looking for Gps in a car rental in Europe? This is something that can help you immensely, and many companies offer them. Odds are however, you won't get it unless you book one in advance. If you are going to need a booster or a child seat ask in improve how much it will cost you. Why pay for the cost of a new seat when you could have just brought your own?

Be Aware of supplementary Fees

Many locations payment airport pick surcharges of everywhere from 10-20%. That's two hundred dollars on a thousand dollar rental. The cost of a cab to a downtown office for a family of four with luggage is less than that.  You may be tired when you arrive, but nine times out of ten, driving out of an airport is no less difficult than finding your hotel from a downtown office. Often times, they are very close.

When in Doubt, Ask Questions

The rental agencies are a reserved supply for you to use! Take advantage of the maps, directions and significant local touch that they offer. There can be things that are not always clear when it comes to your rental contract, make sure that you understand all things you are being expensed for.

This list may be a wee spectacular, at first, but it's foremost to cover your bases when overseas. You will be glad you did when you touch a hassle free, affordable car rental in Europe.

Top Table Paris bistro - The Tour D'Argent

There are numerous separate types of restaurants in Paris and places that you could choose to eat out at, and many of the restaurants have lots of history and nostalgia, so we plan it would be an idea to focus on one in particular, called the Tour d'Argent.

This is admittedly the oldest restaurant in Paris and is known throughout the world for its primary French cuisine and was first opened as an inn back in 1582, with the idea of catering for the aristocrats of the time.

Paris Travel Card

By the early 1600's it had come to be so popular that even duels were fought to get a table and savour the delicacies on offer! Numerous dignitaries and royalty came to eat at the Tour d'Argent together with King Louis Xiv and the Duke of Morny, who resided at the mansion which is now home to the haute cuisine restaurant called the Taillevent.

But it was in the 19th century that the Tour d'Argent became even more famed when the owner, Frederic Delair created the ritual of the "Canard au Sang", which is a involved dish known as pressed duck or bloody duck that uses a extra solid silver press and it was shortly after devising this now famed recipe, he declared that every duck should bear a number. For instance, whole 328 was served to King Edward Vii in 1890.

Andre Terrail purchased the Tour d'Argent in 1910, but the tradition of the numbered duck continued and duck whole 40,312 was served to King Alfonso Xiii in 1914. whole 112,151 was served to Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1929 and duck whole 938,451 was served to President Mikhail Gorbachev in 2001.

The Tour d'Argent famed its one millionth duck in 2003 and even today this tradition still continues where you are presented with a card showing what whole duck you had for your meal, but this is just one of the reasons why this restaurant has come to be such a landmark and famed throughout the world.

Now when you enter the Tour d'Argent you will immediately see displays in their small museum of items such as a menu from the maiden voyage of the Normandie straight through to a table set as it was in the 1800's. This is where you would regularly be served aperitifs, yet the restaurant dining room is admittedly positioned on the sixth floor, which was added in 1936, and is accessed via a lift.

And because of its location with the overwhelming views of Notre Dame Cathedral and the boats cruising the River Seine or finding at the shimmering lights of the city and the Eiffel Tower in the length of an evening, becomes another guess why this Paris restaurant is so popular.

Obviously, because this haute cuisine restaurant plays host to celebrities, presidents, royalty, etc reservations are a must and you will need a wholesome bank equilibrium in which to completely appreciate the gastronome dining contact along with their overwhelming choice of fine wines, which brings us to another guess for its popularity.

Their staggering wine cellars hold nearby 400,000 bottles from fine vintages dating back to the 1800's, rare brandies and even more rare champagnes that date from the 1700's and the wine list itself is like reading a novel presented with its own stand! The sommeliers are very knowledgeable and can suggest wines to pair excellently with your cuisine, yet prices can come to be quite high, with some vintage wines costing thousands of Euros!! Yet if you are lucky enough, you may even be able to get a tour of the wine cellars before leaving, where a member of staff will conduct you down underneath the restaurant and ceremoniously rings a copper bell to announce your arrival prior to entry into the cellars.

For many, to dine at this restaurant is a once in a life time experience, where you make sure you are in your best evening dress and the staff are dressed in tails. In fact, this is such a primary restaurant that even today the menu is presented to the lady without the costs and the gentleman has the pricing listed!

But booking a table for lunch is more cheap than going all out on an evening meal, so if you are on a budget, yet still want to splash out, then this is the choice for a overwhelming gastronomic contact and a dreadful view you will not forget.

Raising Your Expectations For Yourself

Do you have high expectations of that special man who will be a lifelong partner for you - man who will bring you happiness? In this narrative I suggest happiness is something you generate yourself. And therefore your first task is to raise your expectations for yourself.

Women in particular often find their association expectations unfulfilled. Is this the Spirit of the Age? What do women now expect from their association with that special man? And who settled these expectations upon them in the first place? There are many candidates - and foremost among them are women themselves. Step send mothers, romance novels with feisty heroines, writers of beloved songs, the media - television, magazines, newspapers. But beyond them all is something we need to recognise - something we may call the Spirit of the Age.

Paris Travel Card

Because we live in an individualistic culture of approximately infinite choice, where we aim for personal fulfillment, it naturally follows that women have far greater expectations and love relationships and marriage than possibly they did three or four generations ago.

For example, back in the 1940's and 1950's men and women had very clearly defined roles in marriage. The man worked, brought in money, did jobs nearby the house, mowed the lawn and handled the finances. The women did the housework, brought up the children, cooked, shopped and did the laundry and ironing. Both knew their roles, these were their expectations of each other and they were relatively easy to fulfill.

But now the majority of women want sensitivity, a high quality of communication, a subtle level of responsiveness that men often find hard to fulfill. And so expectations are shattered. What does 'romance' mean anyway? Must it all the time be synonymous with flowers, Valentine cards, chocolates, surprise weekends in Paris? Or is that naturally testimony of the success of advertising campaigns on profit of florists, greetings card manufacturers, confectioners and the voyage industry?

And the point of this narrative is relevant to men too. Although it may seem improbable in this post-modern, supposedly enlightened and rational age, dating agencies confirm that many still do set their expectations of a prospective life partner by fairy tale scenarios, Hollywood movie-type ways of life working itself out and what constitutes "being in the right place at the right time". Real life is different. You can meet the right man in the wrong place and the wrong time.

How can I be real with myself then? you may ask. By first accepting that nobody else will turn your life nearby and make you happy. We all need to realise who we are first. When you have done that, then you can start thinking about how man else can add to your happiness: that is, the happiness you have already by being positive, optimistic and open-minded. Then you can start to look for man of the same level. Happiness is a constant dynamic, on a lifelong continuum, in perpetual motion. It isn't a case of Cinderella having that glass slipper occasion and then excellent happiness follows and lasts forever.

Happiness will only find the room to move and grow in its own element, I suggest, when we have reached a point where all those false expectations have been stripped away. Unrealistic expectations are the enemy of happiness. Happiness can break out at the very occasion where we just say, 'I am as I am, and you are as you are, and here we are together.'
